Beyond Awards (SAB)

The South African Breweries (SAB) hosted its first ever Beyond Awards, a sustainability recognition platform, in partnership with ESG Africa events that took place on 3 October 2023.

The Beyond Awards fell under the brewery’s strategic sustainability framework, SAB Beyond, which prioritized entrepreneurship, circular packaging, sustainable agriculture, water stewardship, climate, smart drinking & moderation, diversity, equity and inclusion. 

The South African Breweries (SAB) will be hosting the second Beyond Awards, a
sustainability platform, in partnership with ESG Africa Events on 2 nd October 2024.
The awards fall under SAB’s strategic sustainability framework, SAB Beyond, which
prioritises entrepreneurship, circular packaging and sustainable agriculture, smart moderate
drinking, diverse equity and inclusion.

Sustainable Development Goals Champion Award

This award seeks to recognise the organisation with the most comprehensive and impactful overall contribution towards the attainment of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

This award rewards the most comprehensive, relevant and engaging sustainability report

African Trailblazer Award

This award acknowledges remarkable individuals who contribute towards advancing sustainability in Africa. From business leaders; media personalities; civil society or government officials – any individual with a proven footprint in sustainability may apply

(YES)Youth Employment Services ESG Awards

YES recently hosted their inaugural ESG Awards at the ESG Africa Conference where they honoured their partners who significantly contributed to the S in ESG through job creation, economic progress and social development.

The Youth Employment Service (YES), South Africa’s largest private sector jobs creation initiative, held its inaugural ESG Awards, at the ESG Africa Conference on 4 October 2023. The awards recognise social impact through job creation by private companies.

These companies have made a significant contribution to the ‘S’ in ESG through job creation, fostering economic growth, and driving social development. By partnering with YES, their social impact is helping to empower a whole generation to become the architects of their own success stories and agents of change in our society.

This year ESG Africa Events will team up with Youth Employment Services again for another memorable event!

Student Innovation Competition

The ESG student innovation competition aims to encourage innovative ideas that address environmental, social, and governance challenges faced by society today.

This competition provides a platform for students to showcase their talents, engage in critical thinking, and demonstrate their commitment to creating a sustainable and equitable future.

The competition targets students from various disciplines and levels, including undergraduate and graduate students, who are interested in ESG.

The competition aims to attract students from all disciplines, including but not limited to engineering, law, business, social sciences, and natural science students
