Lebone Nkhumeleni

Lebone Nkhumeleni is a social impact investment
strategist with collaborative skills in corporate
citizenship, impact investing, and the environmental,
social and governance (ESG) agenda. She is an ideator
and facilitator of knowledge in both private and nongovernmental sectors; having developed her career across several sectors including but not limited to Property, FMCG and Media.

 

She has delivered strategies that drive socio-economic
development programmes while integrating leadership,
policymaking and strategy in data-driven decisions for
executives.

She is currently a lecturer at the University of Pretoria’s
Department of Business Management, focusing on
Strategy, Responsible Leadership and Business
Management at both the undergraduate and
postgraduate levels. She is also a PhD scholar with a
research focus on strategy practices for impact
investment decisions.

In her previous experience within Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) at Growthpoint Properties, she
delivered social investment strategies for the company’s
portfolio accountable to the social, ethics and
transformation committee. In addition, she facilitated
cross-functional initiatives for Broad-based Black
Economic Empowerment(B-BBEE), sustainability reporting
including; the Carbon Disclosure Project and FTSE/JSE
Responsible Investment index.

In 2018 she served as the Associate Co-ordinating
Advisor for the South African SDG Hub. She is also a
regular contributor for the NationBuilder Corporate Social
Investment Benchmarking Tool; a South African-led tool.
