Mpumi Madisa was appointed Chief Executive at the Bidvest Group on the 1st of October 2020. Mpumi first joined Bidvest in 2003 and has, over the past number of years, held several key and strategic leadership roles at subsidiary, divisional and Group level. She was appointed non-executive director of the Adcock Board on the 23rd of November 2017, and later Chairman of the Board in February 2021. 

Mpumi has a BSc in economics and mathematics and a BCom Honours Degree in economics from Wits University. Additional qualifications include a Certificate Programme in Finance and Accounting and a Master of Management in Finance and Investment and from Wits Business School. Mpumi’s other accolades include being named, by the Choiseul 100 Africa 2015, 2016 and 2017 study, as one of Africa’s top 200 young leaders who will play a major role in the continent’s future economic development. 

She was also a finalist in the 2015/16 corporate category of Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government Awards. In her spare time, Mpumi enjoys spending time with her family and is passionate about mentoring young people. Mpumi grew up in Sebokeng in the South of Johannesburg. She is one of four siblings, and the only girl. She started schooling at Sancta Maria Junior School and matriculated from Mondeor High School.
