I am a chartered accountant with over 15 years experience. My experience at a big 4 audit firm, in banking as well as in investment management roles, have contributed to a durable skillset. These include, financial accounting, reporting, valuation, business partnering across investment banking divisions, asset manager research and analysis, stewardship, ESG strategy, risk and reporting as well as regulatory compliance. As the head of ESG research, I provide the strategic direction for responsible investing efforts on assets north of R400bn or > $21bn, deployed in all asset classes, listed and unlisted, locally and abroad. I am responsible for training investment professionals, asset consultants, client teams and pension fund trustees on ESG integration. Through various mediums of media, asset management industry events and regulatory feedback, I publish and speak on the development of ESG integration and sustainability. As the lead specialist in ESG research, I am a voting member on the Investment committee and research ratings committee that presides over the assets under management. I am also a lead contributor to our parent entities sustainability committee and group efforts.
