Dr Ruwadzano Matsika is an Analyst for the Quadrature Climate Foundation advising on developing and accelerating global climate solutions.
Ruwa is a Zimbabwean national, an environmental scientist and a climate and development specialist with over 10 years’ experience working at the interface of science, policy and practice in Africa and other regions in the Global South.
A deep climate generalist, she has worked as Africa Regional Coordinator for the UN Global Compact advancing corporate sustainability across Africa; Research and Policy Advisor at ActionAid International; and as a Carnegie Research Fellow at the Global Change Institute at WITS University in South Africa. Her work has included research and decision-making support on energy transition planning, adaptation and resilience planning for national government, and the humanitarian sector.
She holds a Doctorate in Environmental Sciences and a Post-graduate Diploma in Energy Leadership from WITS University, and a certificate in Climate-related Financial Risk from the University of Oxford.
